A private painting party at the Paint Place is a wonderful way to relax with friends and family. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, a painting party gives everyone the chance to reconnect in a stress-free, positive environment. Yet hosting a party can make anyone nervous. To make sure your party goes off without a hitch, follow these simple steps.

1. Book Early

As you might suspect, some times of the year are busier than others. You want to make sure that your invitees do not already have other plans, and that our studio is available for the date and time you choose. As soon as you can, complete your booking and let your guests know to save the date. Midweek evenings and weekend afternoons are generally the best, and try not to plan your party too close to any major holidays.

2. Choose a Theme

At the Paint Place, we are proud to offer you seemingly endless options and variations. Do you want an intimate class for 10, or a 40-person corporate event? Do you need catering? Do you have specific decorations in mind? Do you picture a sophisticated adults-only party or a family-friendly bash for all ages? Talk to us about what you have in mind, and we will help you design the perfect party.

3. Select a Painting or Two

We have a vast collection of artwork to choose from. A typical paint and sip focuses on one painting, which a professional artist will teach you to recreate on your own 16×20 canvas. However, we can be a bit more flexible with a custom party. For example, if you want the kids to paint something simpler in their own group while the adults work on something more sophisticated, let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

4. Send Fun Invitations

With your date set and your theme and painting selected, send out invitations that highlight the fun and exciting nature of the party. Formal invitations are too stuffy for this type of party, but electronic invites can make it tough to get the point across. Consider mailing out artsy blank cards with handwritten details for a personalized touch.

5. Tell Your Guests What to Expect

Many people have never heard of a paint and sip, or painting party. They might hold some mistaken beliefs, such as that they need to be accomplished artists to participate, or that they will be in a fiercely competitive and stress-filled environment. They might also wonder if they need to purchase anything to be able to participate.

Let them know that the entire goal of this activity is to relax and reconnect with the painting as a low-stress focal point. We strive to foster a noncompetitive atmosphere in which everyone creates something of which they can be proud. Make sure your guests know that all materials will be provided, including aprons, but that they should wear clothing that they will not mind splashing paint on, just in case. Also inform them that we recommend arriving 30 minutes before the painting class is scheduled to begin, to allow time to get settled.

6. BYOB

While we do not have a license to sell alcohol, beer and wine are permitted in our studio. We invite you to bring whatever beer and wine your guests will enjoy. Of course, guests must be at least 21 years old to imbibe.

7. Have Fun and Relax

With all of the details in place, all you need to do on the day of the party is to sit back and enjoy. Our professional artists will guide the event, allowing you to fully participate in the experience. Have fun with your guests without worrying about whether or not their needs are being met.

A painting party is a wonderful choice for your next big gathering. We need you to make just a few simple decisions, and then we will handle the rest. Why not relax with your friends and family while we take care of the details?
